In 1999, I founded 1154 LILL Studio as a concept that allows customers to interact creatively, express their individuality and create lasting memories of shared experiences - all around the collaborative design of handbags and accessories. From our first street fair where customers reacted so enthusiastically to the idea of designing their own handbags, to today, when our customers can shop on-line, at home parties and in our stores, the mission of 1154 LILL Studio has always been clear. We are here to serve our customers; in both their search for beautiful, personal products and in their creation of memorable, shared experiences.

When I describe the 1154 LILL Studio brand, I often tell people LILL bags reflect a bit of each customer. When you see a LILL bag pass by, you are seeing an outward display of the owner’s personality. Similarly, I like to think that the outward image of the LILL brand and company reflects my personality and that of our team. The things that mean the most to me are integral parts of the LILL product and experience. I cherish my time with my friends, my family and my LILL team members. |
I love being creative – nothing gives me more pleasure than taking something raw and turning it into something beautiful and useful. I love shopping with my girlfriends and sharing opinions on what works best for each of us. I love for my surroundings to be filled with color and texture. I love how a great accessory completes an outfit. And,
I love how mementos of past experiences help me remember the good times I have shared with those special to me.

When the team at LILL discusses next steps for the company, for new product development or processes, I often have trouble removing my personal feelings from the decision. Some might say this can create problems when you are running a business, but I would argue that it is what makes LILL so special. The personal connection I feel – that, in fact, the whole LILL team feels – to the product and the experience is what makes LILL connect so well with its customers. We represent our customers and together we are designing a business that produces a product and an experience of which we are proud. It is something we are excited to share with everyone we know. |
