As we are now appealing to a more national audience, the decision is made to change the name of the line from 1154 LILL CHICAGO to 1154 LILL STUDIO. The new name represents both the original studio condo space where owner Jennifer Velarde first started LILL, and also the “studio” experience of designing your own bag.

Another big change occurs when we upgrade our order entry process early in the year, improving the important customer experience at LILL. Towards the end of the year we create the Hostess Discount program as a way to thank customers for hosting LILL Handbag Parties in the store.

Suede styles are added (briefly) to the line and new members are added to the “LILL Family” including Amy Fitzgerald, Mandy Loncar, Leslie Lui, and Nathalie Montano.

Towards the end of the year, having grown out of our first “headquarters” space, we move our expanding production, design and administrative offices to a much larger space in Chicago. The Headquarters of 1154 LILL STUDIO is now officially located at 2675 W. Grand.
